The Business Unit Specialty Acrylics is a leading manufacturer of functional Polymers based on methacrylates, which are utilized for example for the controlled release of drugs, raw material (binders) for coatings, as viscosity index improvers in lubricants or as impact modifiers in PVC profiles. Specialty acrylics give lubricants and oils the desired flow and have a major effect in heavy-duty industrial floors, road markings and masonry paints. The Business Lines Pharma Polymers, Binders & Additives and Lubricant Additives grouped under Business Unit Specialty Acrylics deliver their products to the pharmaceutical and coatings industry, as well as to plastics manufacturers and processors of petroleum. The products of these three Business Lines occupy the first or second place on the relevant world markets.
