The Bulk und Performance Monomers Business Lines offer a wide range of methacrylates products. Methyl methacrylate (MMA), methacrylic acid (GMAA) and butyl methacrylate (BMA) are mainly used for manufacturing plastics and coatings. Performance monomers include some 60 specialty methacrylic monomers for adhesives, coatings and soft contact lenses. PMMA Molding Compounds offer high transparency and excellent resistance to weathering and abrasion, making them the products of choice in many branches of industry worldwide, e.g. in automotive construction and communications, medical engineering, construction and lighting. PLEXIGLAS® and PLEXALLOY® molding compounds are successfully used in non-transparent exterior car body components, for instance.
