High Performance Polymers   

The High Performance Polymers Business Unit of Evonik Degussa GmbH, the latter of which was re-established in 2001, has its origins in the former Hüls AG. With plants in Darmstadt (Germany), Witten (Germany), Lenzing (Austria), Magnolia (Arkansas, USA), Aboshi (Japan) and Changchun (China), the Marl-German based Business Unit has a workforce of almost 1000 members of staff.

This guiding principle of Evonik Degussa forms the basis of policy decisions in the High Performance Polymers Business Unit. At Degussa, sustainable development is an integral component of business processes; economic, ecological and social factors are all taken into account in corporate decision making.   The keyword here is responsibility, because we are deeply committed to the Responsible Care principle, that is, to responsible conduct in distribution safety, environmental protection, plant safety, health and occupational safety, and product stewardship. The High Performance Polymers Business Unit, together with the entire Marl site, was validated in 1997 under the EU Eco-Audit (EMAS) regulations. It was also certified according to ISO 14001:2004 for several other activities at the end of 2000.  

The management system-certified to ISO 9001:2000 since 1992 is constantly being optimized. The positive resonance among our customers is palpable. Nearly all rated our services and the management system in the highest category. For most of our product groups, we underwent a certification audit in accordance with ISO/TS 16949, the automotive industry's international technical specification, in October 2005. This standard goes far beyond ISO 9001:2000. We received the certificate in December 2005.

Rubber - VESTENAMER

The polyoctenamer VESTENAMER^® is a semicrystalline rubber. As a polymeric processing aid, it acts as a plasticizer of rubber compounds in mixing and manufacturing processes. In the vulcanization of rubber parts, it participates in crosslinking and, as an elastomer, is fully incorporated into the network.

Polyamide 12 Powders - VESTOSINT^®

The VESTOSINT^® powders are used in a variety of processes for coating metal, as fine powders for improving the properties of lacquers and for producing thermoplastic composites.
