Silica:
Ultrasil® is a silica of high purity used primarily as a reinforcing agent in rubber to improve its physical properties. Ultrasil® 7000 GR, Ultrasil® VN3/ VN3 GR are the most active silicas in the Evonik Degussa line of precipitated white reinforcing fillers developed for rubber technical purposes. Due to its high surface area and purity, vulcanizates can be made with excellent transparency, enhanced strength properties, tear, hardness and abrasion resistance.
Considered on a worldwide basis, Ultrasil® 7000 GR, Ultrasil® VN3/ VN3 GR is the most widely used of all silica in the rubber industry. The areas of applications include: tires, shoe sole materials, technical rubber goods, cable compounds and high performance rice hulling rollers. Furthermore, the reinforcing agents developed by Degussa, e.g. Si 69, Si 75, Si 230, and Si 264 can greatly increase compound processing, static and dynamic performance level of rubber compounds filled with Ultrasil® 7000 GR, Ultrasil® VN3/ VN3 GR. |
Ultrasil® 7000 GR is an excellent dispersible and highly reinforcing filler, which was especially developed for applications in low rolling resistant passenger car tire, tread compounds. It imparts to tread compounds high abrasion resistance combined with excellent rolling resistance and wet traction. Requirement for this is the combined use of Ultrasil® 7000 GR and a bifunctional organo silane, either Si69 or Si75. In addition to the application in green tire compound, the new silica in combination with Si264 fulfill the demands of high abrasion resistance in soling compound or other mechanical rubber goods. Recently our applied technology rubber laboratory was expanded to serve even more effectively the Asia/Pacific Region. State of the art equipment was installed to provide our customers in the tire, soling and mechanical rubber goods industries with the necessary technical support in testing and compound development. In addition to our technical centers in Germany and USA, this Asian technical center for the Rubber Industry is a clear indication of our commitment in this part of the world.

A Modern Processing Aid in Animal Feed Industry
Sipernat® 22 a spray-dried silica with high absorptivity and relatively large particle size. It is recommended for the conversion of all kinds of liquids into powders. For example, this silica is used in the animal feed industry as a carrier for choline chloride solution. Furthermore, it serves as a grinding aid for lowmelting products. Sipernat® 22S A finely divided, spray-dried and milled version of Sipernat® 22 is used as a free-flow and anti-caking agent. Sipernat® 200 is specially developed for high transparent silicone rubber applications. Sipernat® 200 has the largest specific surface area of 200m²/g. All the way from the conditions of precipitation and subsequent processing methods to the grinding process efforts were made to obtain an easily dispersible silica so that a high reinforcing effect can be achieved in the rubber. In the development of Sipernat® 200 a high transparency in conjunction with high reinforcing properties was also targeted.
